The Andalusian Roof is inspired by the Spanish mix style design, known for its colorful, patterned, multi-cultural mixture of memorable layers and elements. The design is distinctive and viable, offering a rich and heady space, full of visual interest and a relaxed spirit. The design's unique properties include botanical elements, mosaics, modern furniture, gypsum arches, exposed beams, and a central fountain, creating a romantic Spanish vibe in the room.
The design process started with sketches and 2D drawings, which were then transitioned into 3D space using AutoCad and 3ds max. The colors, materials, lighting, decor, and furniture were carefully chosen and modeled, and the final render was done using the v-ray engine. Post-production was carried out with Photoshop, ensuring a high-quality, realistic representation of the design.
The technical specifications of the design include a width of 8000 mm, a depth of 16000 mm, and a height of 3700 mm. The walls feature gypsum arches with Andalusian decorative motifs and vintage coating traditional stucco walls. The flooring is made of high-quality Moroccan tiles, adding to the overall aesthetic of the design.
The design was created by a team of designers, including Engy El-Gohary and Hassan Khateeb. The project started in August 2020 in Alexandria, Egypt, and is currently under construction in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The design faced several challenges, including the need to harmoniously combine elements from different cultures and ensure ideal organization of space, absolute comfort, and perfect functionality. The designers also aimed to source well-loved pieces that look as if they were sourced from a far-flung market in an exotic locale, adding to the charm of the Spanish style.
In conclusion, the Andalusian Roof by Engy ElGohary is a testament to the power of blending tradition with innovation. The design's unique blend of Spanish and Arabic influences, combined with modern aesthetics, makes it a standout in the world of interior design. With its award-winning status, the Andalusian Roof is set to inspire future designs in the industry.
